What is Wet-Hulled Coffee?

Small Craft Advisory - 3.21.2023

Processing refers to how the coffee cherries are handled after harvesting. While not discussed as often as other factors like altitude, processing can have a significant impact on flavor. Giling-Basah, or Wet Hulled, processing is specific to Indonesia and provides a unique earthy flavor and deeper body we particularly enjoy!

Our Sumatra green beans are Fair Trade and USDA Certified Organic. We roast this coffee to a lovely Medium-Dark to bring out just the right flavor and body. It took some time to get the roast profile dialed in just right!

Tasting Notes:  Flavorful, Sweet with Molasses, Dark Cocoa, More Body

Where It's Grown:

Growing Region: Aceh (Indonesia)

Elevation: 1350 to 1650 meters

Processing: Giling-Basah
